A BEAUTIFUL CREATIVE LIFE, 2026

A Beautiful Messy Life reflects my understanding of creativity as a lived, ongoing process rather than a finished state. The ceramic nest, partially woven with raffia and trailing loose, tangled strands beneath, speaks to the tension I experience between order and disorder, intention and intuition. Some parts are carefully constructed; others are left unresolved, evidence of movement, experimentation, and growth.

The small finch, momentarily paused mid‑weave with a gold‑lustred beak, stands as a quiet self‑portrait. It represents my role as maker—working instinctively, gathering materials, shaping and reshaping, trusting the act of making itself. Suspended from a delicate wire frame on a golden thread, the sculpture hovers lightly, suggesting both fragility and resilience.

This work is an acknowledgement of the beauty I find in continuing to create - imperfect, attentive and always in the process of becoming.
