KOOKABURRA #2 TOTEM, 2026

A small conical totem that reads like a cultivated landscape: carved patterns and oxide washes suggest soil and weather, while bands of mosaic wrap like garden paths. Kookaburras are social and often live in family units, which felt right for a guardian figure perched above a garden. This work is an invitation to slow down – look at the surface, notice the details, and imagine the small conversations between homegrown order and the wild things that visit it.

My totems are created in direct response to the natural world and are intended to sit outdoors within the landscape. They celebrate place, connection with a sense of pride and belonging. Being ceramic they do prefer protected garden spaces, courtyards and balconies.
